Düdül Lingpa (17th), aka Rongpa Tertön Düdül Lingpa, was an emanation of Gyalwa Chokyang, one of the twenty-five disciples of Guru Rinpoche.

According to Jamgon Kongtrul[1]

He was born at Tsangrong Dumra. He first lived at the college of the lower Kyetsal and studied the tripitaka. Then he practiced the profound and secret Nyingma teachings and began to display unstoppable signs of siddhi and control of prana. He revealed many profound termas and his activity flourished a bit, but in the end the king spirit Lhazang interfered and Düdül Lingpa passed away accidentally. It appears that his dharma lineage did not continue.

In any case, as the great tertön of Mindröling and others considered Düdül Lingpa to be authentic, it appears that he was. Although I have not received his actual termas, I have received his Tara Who Protects from All Danger.

On of his terma, "The Empowerment for the Rediscovered Treasure of "The Green Tara Who Protects From All Fears", appeared as a rediscovered terma, in accordance with The Moon Rays that Bring Joy to All, by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo. This empowerment liturgy is now part of his Rinchen Terdzö.

His reincarnation was Thekchen Lingpa, one Jikme Lingpa's Lamas.
