Dzongshö (Wyl. rdzong shod), or Dzongshö Palace of the Sugatas (Wyl. rdzong shod bde gshegs 'dus pa'i pho brang) is a sacred place in the Palyul region of Dergé, in Kham. It is one of the twenty-five holy places of Eastern Tibet, which was ‘opened’ in 1857 by Jamyang Khyentsé Wangpo, Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa and Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Tayé. There are caves where many great masters such as Guru Rinpoche, Khandro Yeshe Tsogyal and Lochen Vairotsana practised.
Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Thayé established a retreat place for the practice of the tantras of the Shangpa Kagyü lineage. It is in this hermitage which is still there today, that he compiled the the Treasury of Precious Termas.
