རྟ་བབས་ཀྱི་སྣམ་བུ། (Wyl. rta babs kyi snam bu) n. Pron.: tabab kyi nambu
- literally a 'step for climbing down from a horse' [1], gateways, steps. The causal tababs are 'steps' and the resultant are 'layers of thog phub roof canopy. Khamtrul Rinpoche: These are the steps above and below the doorways. In the Sarma traditions, there can be eight, eleven or sixteen steps, but in Nyingma sadhanas there are four above and four below.
