Jangtsé Chöjé (Wyl. byang rtse chos rje) is one of the most important positions in the Gelug tradition, and is held by a former abbot of Gyümé Lower Tantric College. The Jangtsé Chöjé goes on to be appointed, in alternation with the Sharpa Chöjé, as Ganden Tripa, the Throneholder of Ganden Monastery and overall head of the Gelug tradition.
