Nyen yik (Wyl. bsnyen yig) — a retreat instruction text or sadhana manual. Nyen yik gives a practitioner all the information and instructions necessary to carry out traditional and strict personal retreat[1].
Nyen yik covers many points such as how to arrange the shrine, prepare the retreat house, how to carry out the practice on a daily basis, the duration of each phase of the practice, how to conclude the retreat and what signs might occur.
