The eight kinds of precious substances (Wyl. rin po che sna brgyad) are the eight substances from which the eight caskets containing the Kagye cycles hidden in the Shankarakuta stupa were made of. They are:
- gold
- silver
- iron
- copper
- turquoise
- rhinoceros horn
- agate
- gzi-stone
