The six excellent medicinals (Wyl. sman bzang po drug) are:
- Nutmeg (Skt. jāti; Tib. dz'a ti)
- Bamboo juice or tabasheer (Skt. vaṃśalocanā; Tib. cu gang)
- Saffron (Skt. kuṅkuma; Tib. gur gum / gur kum)
- Cloves (Skt. lavaṅga; Tib. li shi)
- Cardamom or elettaria cardamomum (Skt. elā; Tib. sug smel)
- Black cardamom (Skt. kākoli; Tib. ka ko la)
