Aniruddha (Skt. Tib, མ་འགགས་པ་, magakpa, Wyl. ma 'gags pa) literally means 'unobstructed'. One of the ten great Shravaka disciples, famed for his meditative prowess and super-knowledges. He was the Buddha's cousin—a son of Amrtodana, one of the brothers of King Shuddhodana—and is often mentioned along with his two brothers Bhadrika and Mahanama.
