The ten royal sutras (Wyl. rgyal po'i mdo bcu)—the sutras Guru Padmasambhava personally recommended to King Trisong Detsen who had requested only but the most essential sutras for practice.

1. བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པའི་སྨོན་ལམ་གྱི་མདོ་དང་།
2. རྡོ་རྗེ་རྣམ་འཇོམས་ཁྲུས་ཀྱི་མདོ།
3. ཤེས་རབ་སྣིང་པོ་ལྟ་བའི་མདོ།
4. འདའ་ཀ་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྒོམ་པའི་མདོ།
5. བྱང་ཆུབ་ལྟུང་བཤགས་བཤགས་པའི་མདོ་བཅས་ལྔའོ།།
6. རྒྱལ་པོ་མདོ་ལྔའི་སྟེང་དུ་དཔག་དུ་མེད་པ་ཚེའི་མདོ་དང་།
7. གོས་སྔོན་ཅན་ནི་གཟུངས་ཀྱི་མདོ།
8. གཙུག་ཏོར་དགུགས་དཀར་བཟློག་པའི་མདོ།
9. ནོར་རྒྱུན་མ་ནི་ནོར་གྱི་མདོ།
