Mount Hépori (Wyl. has po ri) above Samye is where Guru Rinpoche subjugated the negative forces impeding the construction of the monastery. As it says in the Barché Lamsel prayer:
- On the very summit of Hépori
- You bound all the devas and rakshasas under oath:
- Of all these great gods and demons,
- Some offered the core of their lifeforce,
- Some undertook to guard the teachings,
- Some took the pledge to be your servants.
