The Second Dodrupchen Rinpoche, Jikmé Puntsok Jungné (Wyl. ‘jigs med phun tshogs ‘byung gnas) (1824–1863), was born in the Do valley, and during his short life displayed many miraculous powers. Do Khyentse, the great siddha and emanation of Jikmé Lingpa, was his teacher and friend. It was the second Dodrupchen Rinpoche who established the Dodrupchen monastery in the Tsangchen plain in the Do valley.
