The eight consciousnesses, or more literally, eight collections of consciousness (Skt. aṣṭavijñānakāya; Wyl. rnam shes tshogs brgyad) are mentioned in the writings of the Mind Only school.

To the six consciousnesses mentioned in the Abhidharma texts of the basic vehicle are added
