Four dignitaries - are mythical animals which represent various aspects of the Bodhisattva attitude, like strength, protection and cheerfulness. They are: Dragon, Tiger, Snow Lion and Garuda.
Many prayer flags show the four dignities with a wind-horse in
the center.
