Skilful means (Skt. upāya; Tib. ཐབས་, tab ; Wyl. thabs) — compassion, which is the counterpart of the wisdom of emptiness, and all bodhisattva activity motivated by compassion. The first five paramitas are skilful means, the sixth is wisdom.
