Pravrajita (Skt. pravrajitaḥ, Tib. རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་བ།, rab tu byung ba) — literally someone who has gone forth, and therefore often translated as a renunciant. The Tibetan term rabjung has become almost synonymous with being a monk, but this is not always the case, since the definition is 'to go from having a house to being homeless'. The term stands in contrast with the householder (Skt. gṛhin).
