One day lay vows (Wyl. bsnyen gnas, nyen né) — one of the pratimoksha vows which comprise eight specific vows which are kept for one day (Skt. aṣṭāṅgopavāsa śikṣā; Wyl. bsnyen gnas yan lag brgyad; Tib. བསྙེན་གནས་ nyen né):
- not to kill
- not to steal
- not to have sexual intercourse
- not to lie
- not to take any intoxicants
- not to sing or dance
- not to eat after noon
- not to use high seats or luxurious beds
