Shariputra (Skt. Śāriputra; Pal. Sāriputta; Tib. ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་, sha ri bu, Wyl. shA ri'i bu) — one of the foremost shravaka disciples of Buddha Shakyamuni. In Sanskrit texts his name also occurs as Sariputra, Saliputra, Sarisuta, Saradvatiputra.
