Dzagyal Khenpo Bumthar

Dzagyal Khenpo Bumthar (Wyl. mkhan po 'bum thar) (approximately 1925-2000) was regarded as an incarnation of Tilopa. Among his teachers were the two great scholars Khenchen Thubten Chöpel and Khenpo Kunzang Palden, and the two siddhas Patrul Namkha Jikmé and Patrul Jiga (Jigme Wangpo). The latter was the son of Tsamtrul Rinpoche [Kunzang Dechen Dorje (Pema Kunzang)], the incarnation of [Jikme Gyalwe Nyugu].

His tsa-lung lineage thus came from Patrul Rinpoche, who taught Khenpo Kunzang Palden, who taught Patrul Namkha Jikmé. It is said that whenever he taught tsa-lung, he demonstrated all the movements himself, including all the 'bebs', even at the advanced age of seventy.

His students include Lama Jigme Namgyal and others.
