Ngawang Tenzin Norbu
Ngawang Tendzin Norbu (1867-1942) - one of the main teachers of Kyabjé Trulshik Rinpoche, famous for his commentaries on the Thirty-Seven Practices of the Bodhisattvas. He was a disciple of Trulshik Dongak Lingpa, and became known as the Buddha of Dza Rongphuk after his place of retreat and the monastery that he established on the northern slopes of Mount Everest.
In 1922 Ngawang Tendzin Norbu met a group of climbers led by General C. G. Bruce and later wrote about the encounter in his autobiography. (See Macdonald 1973)
