Lama Rigdzin Phuntsok is a respected contemporary nyingma senior lama in the lower region of Pemakö, student of "Dudjom Rinpoche", and holder of the Dudjom Tersar lineage.

Birth

He is the grandson of Dzongpon (Governor) Dorje Drakpa of Pemakö who was credited with the establishment of many dharma institutions and was a great provider for the needs of many great masters and practitioners throughout the region, as was his own father Dzongpon Tsewang Rigdzin.

Training

Lama Rigdzin Phuntsok received numerous empowerments, transmissions and instructions from the following masters:

Activity

Having remained in retreat for most of his life, he now serves as the heir of Togden Kunzang Longdrol, giving spiritual guidance to all retreatants on the land, leading monthly practices, and presiding over public ceremonies at Deden Tashi Choeling temple in Yoldong.

Through this, he played a key role in preserving and transmitting many unique spiritual lineages of the past to present-day practitioners in Pemakö.

Relaying the heart advice of his root teachers and Padmasambhava’s prophecies about every meritorious action taken in Pemaköd affecting the rest of the world and beyond, Lama Rigdzin Phuntsok has been a source of inspiration for younger generations to remain in Pemakö and dedicate their lives to the practice of Dharma.

Lama Rigdzin Phuntsok's son included Tulku Orgyen Phuntsok.
