Pehar (Tib. པེ་ཧར་, Wyl. pe har) — in order to protect Samyé from any danger, Guru Rinpoche entrusted the king of the gyalpo spirits, Pehar, with the task of guarding it. Detailed accounts of how Pehar was bound are found in the more extensive biographies of Guru Rinpoche. Pehar is also the spirit channeled by the Nechung Oracle.
