Sarvajñadeva

Sarvajñadeva (Skt. Sarvajñādeva; Tib. སརྦ་ཛྙཱ་དེ་བ།, or ཀུན་མཁྱེན་ལྷ།, or ཐམས་ཅད་མཁྱེན་པའི་ལྷ།, Wyl. sarba dz+nyA de ba, kun khyen lha, thams cad mkhyen pa’i lha) was a Kashmiri pandita among the “one hundred” panditas invited by King Trisong Detsen to assist with the translation of the Buddhist scriptures into Tibetan. Sarvajñadeva assisted in the translation of more than twenty-three works, including numerous sutras and the first translations of Shantideva's Bodhicharyavatara and Nagarjuna's Letter to a Friend. Much of this work was likely carried out in the first years of the ninth century and may have continued into the reign of King Tri Ralpachen.
