Tsogkhang Rinpoche was a great disciple of Dudjom Lingpa. He visited Degyal Rinpoche in Western Tibet, in the area of Mount Kailash, and stayed with him for one year. Then, he spent the following year in the Drikung Kagyü monastery of Gyangdrak before settling in Lemi Chay.
Tsokhang Choktrul Tsewang Dorje was recognised as his reincarnation.
