Desi Sangye Gyatso (Wyl. sde srid sangs rgyas rgya mtsho) (1677-1705) - an important regent of Tibet who took over after the great Fifth Dalai Lama. He was also an author of treatises on medicine, astrology, history and other subjects. He is counted among Sogyal Rinpoche's previous incarnations.
