Wangchuk Dorje (Wyl. dbang phyug rdo rje ), the Ninth Karmapa (1556-1601/3), is well known for his three major Mahamudra treatises: The Ocean of Definitive Meaning (Wyl. phyag chen nges don rgya mtsho), Dispelling the Darkness of Ignorance (Wyl. phyag chen ma rig mun sel) and Pointing Out the Dharmakaya (Wyl. chos sku mdzub tshugs). He also established and blessed from Tibet Rumtek Monastery in Sikkhim.
