The Two Stainless Cycles (Wyl. dri med rnam gnyis) are the two cycles of instructions given by the Buddha Shakyamuni on how to build, fill and consecrate stupas. Regardless of the outer form of a stupa, the inner consecration is identical in every case and is based on these two cycles.[1] They are The Dhāraṇī of Pure Stainless Light (Tōh. 510, raśmivimalaviśuddhaprabhādhāraṇī, ‘od zer dri ma med pa rnam par dag pa’i gzungs) and The Dhāraṇī of Pure Uṣṇīṣa (Tōh. 599, uṣṇīṣaprabhāsasarva-tathāgatahṛdaya-samayavilokitadhāraṇī, gtsug tor dri ma med pa'i gzungs).
