The Two Stainless Cycles (Wyl. dri med rnam gnyis) are the two cycles of instructions given by the Buddha Shakyamuni on how to build, fill and consecrate stupas. Regardless of the outer form of a stupa, the inner consecration is identical in every case and is based on these two cycles.[1] They are Pure Stainless Light (raśmivimalaviśuddhaprabha, ‘od zer dri ma med pa rnam par dag pa) and Pure Uṣṇīṣa (uṣṇīṣaprabhāsasarva-tathāgatahṛdaya-samayavilokita, gtsug tor dri ma med pa).
