Lama Yedrol
Lama Yedrol (Wyl. bla ma ye grol) (1937-2020), aka Lama Pema Yedrol Dorje Rinpoche, was a practitioner of the Namkha Khyung Dzong Tradition — a subtradition of the Dudjom Tersar — which he received from Golok Serta Rinpoche, and also as student of Dudjom Rinpoche.
Training
First, Lama Yedrol began his studies as a close student of Golok Serta Rinpoche, in Humla, Nepal. In 1964, at the age of 27, Lama Yedrol travelled to Orissa, India, where he stayed studying and practicing for 32 years. It was there that he received many teachings and empowerments from Dudjom Rinpoche. In 1996, at the age of 59, Lama Yedrol then returned to Nepal, where he resided until his passing. [1]
Activities
Lama Yedrol became a highly accomplished meditation master and ritual master of ceremonies (Ngakchang) of the Dudjom Tersar tradition. Although he was completely adept in all the Dudjom Tersar practices, including the (Namchak Pudri and Pudri Rekpung) Vajrakilaya practices, Lama Yedrol focused most of his life on Tröma Nakmo (Dudjom). He was a very good friend of Dawa Chödak Rinpoche.
Family
With his wife Sangyum Drolma, they have two sons, Jikme (Wyl. ‘jigs med) and Lama Chime Gompo.
Final Years
In 2020, Lama Yedrol passed away at his home in Nepal, and stayed in Tukdam for several days.
