Pure water is said to be endowed with eight qualities (Skt. aṣṭāṅgajala; Tib. ཡན་ལག་བརྒྱད་དང་ལྡན་པའི་ཆུ།, Wyl. yan lag brgyad dang ldan pa'i chu):

  1. crystal clarity,
