Lama Jigme Namgyal (Wyl. 'jigs med rnam rgyal ) (1968- ) was born in the Dzachukha area of the Kham province in Tibet and raised at Dzagyal Monastery.
Some masters recognized him as an incarnation of Patrul Jiga (Jigme Wangpo). Patrul Jiga was the son of Tsamtrul Rinpoche Kunzang Dechen Dorje (Pema Kunzang), the incarnation of Jikme Gyalwe Nyugu.
He did about ten years retreat at Samye Chimphu and other holy places. On his wandering retreat journey, he travelled to Bhutan and then could not return to Tibet. After some years in Bhutan, he settled in Tso Pema, India.
Dzagyal Khenpo Bumthar was his main teacher and he also received transmissions from Adzom Drukpa Tubten Pema Trinle, Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche, Tulku Sonam Nyima from Adzom Monastery and others.
He is married to Changchub Lhamo, who was a disciple of Khenpo Munsel and the niece of the adept Karma Chopel (who gave some important transmissions to Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche).
