Khamtrul Rinpoche Incarnation Line

Khamtrul Rinpoche Incarnation Line — the successive incarnations of Khampa Karma Tenphel, an important Drukpa Kagyü master. The main seat of this incarnation line was Khampagar Monastery in Kham, Eastern Tibet, and was considered as one of the foremost monasteries of the Drukpa Kagyü lineage. The Eighth Khamtrul Rinpoche, Dongyü Nyima, rebuilt Khampagar Monastery in Tashi Jong, Himachal Pradesh, India, in the late 1960s.

2. Kunga Tenphel (Wyl. kun dga' bstan 'phel) (1639-1678)
3. Kunga Tenzin (Wyl. kun dga' bstan 'dzin) (1680-1728)
4. Tenzin Chökyi Nyima (Wyl. bstan 'dzin chos kyi nyi ma) (1730-1779/80)
5. Drupgyü Nyima (Wyl. sgrub brgyud nyi ma) (1781-1847)
6. Tenpé Nyima (Wyl. bstan pa'i nyi ma) (1849-1907)
7. Sangyé Tenzin (Wyl. sangs rgyas bstan 'dzin) (1909-1929)
8. Dongyü Nyima (Wyl. don brgyud nyi ma) (1931-1980)
9. There are two reincarnations of Khamtrul Rinpoche Dongyü Nyima:

• The Ninth Khamtrul Rinpoche Shedrub Nyima (b.1980) who currently resides at Khampagar Monastery, India, and
• The Ninth Khamtrul Rinpoche Jigme Pema Nyinjadh (b.1981) who currently resides in Bhutan.
