Ling Lama Chöjor Gyatso aka Ling Lama Orgyen Chöjor Gyatso, aka Golok Lang Lama Tupten Chökyi Jorpa was a highly accomplished Dzogchen master. In the early part of his life, he was a student of Patrul Rinpoche and later he became a student of Dudjom Lingpa, and a root master of Dudjom Rinpoche.
On his master’s instruction, Lama Kedrup left Dudjom Lingpa in Golok with other senior students and made the long journey to Pemakö to find the reincarnation of his master : Dudjom Rinpoche.
In Pemakö, when Dudjom Rinpoche was seven years old, Ling Lama Chöjor Gyatso requested him o give a public teaching on Shantideva’s major work by saying to him : “When you were Dudjom Lingpa, your son, Dodrupchen Tenpai Nyima, gave public teaching on Shantideva’s A Guide To the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life when he was eight years old. It’s only right that the father should give this teaching at the age of seven and no later than seven and a half. Yes, by then, you must teach the first four chapters, and so you’d better start studying”.
