For the Nyingma teacher who has taught at Lerab Ling, Dzogchen Beara and other Rigpa centres on several occasions, see Garje Khamtrul Rinpoche.
Khamtrul Rinpoche (khams sprul rin po che) is the name of the succesive incarnations of Khampa Karma Tenphel (1548-1627), one of the principal disciples of Yongdzin Ngawang Zangpo, an important master of the Drukpa Kagyü lineage. The ninth Khamtrul Rinpoche, born in 1980, resides at Khampagar Monastery, Tashi Jong, Himachal Pradesh, India.
