The six stains (Wyl. dri ma drug; Tib. དྲི་མ་དྲུག་) are forms of conduct to be avoided when listening to the teachings. They are mentioned in Vasubandhu’s Well Explained Reasoning:
- Arrogance, lack of faith,
- Lack of any interest,
- Outward distraction, inward tension,
- And discouragement are the six stains.[1].
