Kunzang Dechen Lingpa
Kunzang Dechen Lingpa Rinpoche was a contemporary Tertön of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Renowned in his homeland in Northeastern India, he was a realized master of Dzogchen who personified compassion and spiritual power, combined with integrity and a playful delight in life. His terma texts include many profound practices, but especially a special healing Chö practice of Tröma Nagmo. Through this practice, he has been able to bring healing and relief from suffering to countless beings around the world.
His Birth and Family
Kunsang Dechen Rinpoche was born in the Earth Snake Year - 1928, in Southern Tibet in Lhodrak. He was recognized by Dudjom Rinpoche as the Lodhak Terton, the reincarnation of Terton Longsal Nyingpo, of the Drubchen Melong Dorje lineage.
His Training
From childhood he was only interested in spiritual things. At 16 he went into full time spiritual retreat, and studied with Dudjom Rinpoche for 10 years.
His Termas Revelations
Kunsang Dechen Rinpoche was renowned for his termas revelations which include:
- Dorje Drolö
- Tröma Nagmo
- and many others he directly received from Padmasambhava
His Final Years
Kunsang Dechen Rinpoche passed away in 2006, in in monastery Aangdok Palri. He remained in tukdam, a state of deep meditational awareness, sitting upright unassisted for 2 and half days. At that time, marvelous signs were witnessed by many.
