The three qualifications for composing a shastra (Tib. བསྟན་བཅོས་རྩོམ་པའི་རྒྱུ་གསུམ། ) are
- a perfect realization of ultimate reality,
- a vision of the yidam deity, and
- a complete knowledge of the five sciences. [1]
