Khamtrul Rinpoche (Wyl. khams sprul rin po che) is the name of the successive incarnations of Khampa Karma Tenphel (1548-1627), one of the principal disciples of Yongdzin Ngawang Zangpo, an important master of the Drukpa Kagyü lineage.
The Eighth Khamtrul Rinpoche, Dongyu Nyima (1931-1980), founded Khampagar Monastery in Tashi Jong in the late 1950s.
The Ninth Khamtrul Rinpoche, born in 1980, resides at Khampagar Monastery, Tashi Jong, Himachal Pradesh, India.
