Lama Pema Longdrol (Wyl. bla ma padma klong grol) followed Dudjom Rinpoche to Tibet after receiving from him the empowerment of the Rinchen Terdzö in Buthan.

Birth

He was born in the Nyo lineage of Gyalwa Lhanangpa (a major siddhas of the Drikung Kagyü, and he was an example of a realized being and a hidden yogi.

Training

Lama Pema Longdrol served Dudjom Rinpoche in Tibet for almost 15 years. After, Lama Pema Longdrol and his wife came to Kalimpong in West Bengal, India.

Lama Pema Longdrol continued to serve Dudjom Rinpoche until Rinpoche left for Kathmandu and then on to France and received all the teachings including the Dzogchen instructions directly from Dudjom Rinpoche.

Activity

Lama Pema Logndrol was appointed the abbott of Jangsa Gompa (Kalimpong) by Dudjom Rinpoche and the late Rani Chuni Wangmo, the Mother of present grand Queen Mother of Bhutan.

Dudjom Rinpoche and Lama Pema Longdrol started in Jangsa Gompa the first Vajrakilaya drubchen, and a Tsedrup Chime Soktik. Later, a Kama drubchen was performed by Lama Pema Longdrol under the guidance of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and Minling Trichen Rinpoche in Jangsa Gompa in Kalimpong.

Final Years

Lama Pema Longdrol passed away in Kalimpong. He stayed in tukdam for many days, and after his cremation, many relics of five different colours were found.

Family

His son is Lama Kunzang Dorjee (b. 1974), who heads the oldest Buthanese monastery, Jangsa Gompa in Kalimpong, India.
