Three kinds of generosity

The paramita of generosity can be classified as three kinds (Tib. སྦྱིན་པ་གསུམ་, jinpa sum, Wyl. sbyin pa gsum). They are:
- giving material things (Tib. ཟང་ཟིང་གི་སྦྱིན་པ་, zangzing gi jinpa, Wyl. zang zing gi sbyin pa)
- giving the dharma (Tib. ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྦྱིན་པ་, chö kyi jinpa, Wyl. chos kyi sbyin pa)
- giving protection from fear (Tib. མི་འཇིགས་པ་སྦྱིན་པ་, mijikpa jinpa, Wyl. mi ‘jigs pa sbyin pa)
